While we were at the CCI event, our team at home hosted a retreat for a group of high ranked police officers from Rivne (Western Ukraine). They drove for 7 hours to spend 3 days at Camp Maximum. The main goal for this event was to equip this group with effective instruments to deal with trauma in their units. Since the war started, the responsibilities of police units have expanded to an unprecedented scale. Many officers find themselves unequipped to help their subordinates cope with trauma on the job, especially as they face and document incidents of war crimes. Together with our partners in this ministry, Patrol Chaplaincy, we are planning several more events in the coming weeks that will provide valuable time of training and recovery.
