Exploring Partnerships: Visit to Uman and Round Table Discussion

Exploring Partnerships: Visit to Uman and Round Table Discussion

Last Thursday, we had a work visit to Uman, the second largest city in Cherkasy Oblast. We were invited by the Mayor of Uman to share about the programs at Camp Maximum and formalise our collaboration through a memorandum of cooperation. During our visit, we discussed potential partnerships with the Uman territorial community in the following areas:

 • Social Adaptation for Veterans and Their Families: more families from Uman will participate in Camp Maximum’s programs. Uman is launching its Veteran’s hub that will be headed by a family of Viktor and Anna – our program participants. We are also in a discussion with the local Reconciliation Church to secure their support in launching this hub and supporting the families locally.

 • Training and Internships for Psychologists and Social Workers: Understanding the importance of mental health support, we aim to offer comprehensive training and internship opportunities to professionals, equipping them with the skills necessary to address community needs effectively. The training will be taking place during programs at Camp Maximum.

 • Programs for People with Disabilities: In line with our commitment to inclusivity, we look forward to collaborating on initiatives that empower individuals with disabilities, fostering their full participation and integration into society.

 • Camps for children from occupied territories, temporarily displaced families and other group is difficult life circumstances.

Additionally, we had the privilege of participating in a round table discussion with the government officials and non-profit organisations dedicated to supporting war veterans in Central Ukraine. This event provided valuable networking opportunities and further showcased our work in Cherkasy Oblast.
