A Place To Connect

Camp Maximum is a premier destination for camping and retreats, offering year-round opportunities for individuals and families seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of urban life in Ukraine. Located amidst lush greenery and serene surroundings, this camp provides a range of outdoor activities, curated events, and engaging workshops for people of all ages.

With its exceptional facilities and state-of-the-art amenities, Camp Maximum offers an ideal escape for anyone looking to reconnect with God, nature, and themselves.

In addition to individual and family getaways, Camp Maximum also provides an excellent venue for group retreats, team-building activities, and educational programs. As an inclusive space, it welcomes people from all walks of life to come together, bond, and learn from one another.

History of Camp Maximum

In the summer of 1992, the first camp for orphans was held in western Ukraine under the direction of Linda Wicklund. A team from Calvary Church traveled to Zolotonosha to put on the first Adventure Camp the next year.

In the summer of 1994, Calvary Church and Shepherd’s Foundation partnered on a second Adventure Camp in Zolotonosha. The first week of this camp was also a training program for six churches from Minnesota. After a week of observation and learning, the six teams traveled to their own sister churches throughout Ukraine for a week of Adventure Camps.

This launched a camping ministry that continued for 15 years, expanded into specialty day camps in 2003 and formed the foundation for the permanent camp and retreat facility, established in 2015.

"This was my first trip to Ukraine! Wonderful time traveling to Europe, learning new cultures, traditions, serving together with people from other parts of the world and being able to share faith with campers and staff at Camp Maximum. Time I will never forget! The mission ended up better than I could have envisioned! A very memorable, professional, and spiritual journey for me!"

Programs Coordinator

"I traveled to Ukraine to help develop programing and processes for the new Christian Camp site the local team was just starting to build. I lived and served in Zolotonosha for six months! A rewarding experience I will cherish for the rest of my life. This was not easy, but I would definitely do it again. Love Ukraine and my dear friends in Zolo!"

"I iterally could not be happier that I chose to travel on a mission with the Shepherd's Foundation! Through serving and sharing my faith in Ukraine I discovered deeper relationships and a sense of God's presence in my life. This is something you only come to understand when you serve abroad."
