What We Do
Our Ministry Focus
Four season camps and retreats
Camp Maximum offers year round opportunities for camping and retreats. These escapes from the pressures of the world provide enriching experiences for children and adults both individually and as families. Our welcoming space offers a chance to pray and reflect, fellowship with others and worship. We are also committed to identifying and developing strong Christian leaders in Ukraine through the camping experience.
Special needs and social inclusion
We support the inclusion of people with special needs into all spheres of Ukrainian life. Shepherd’s Foundation and Camp Maximum have been pioneers in developing focused camps for special needs kids and families. Our extreme activities have been modified for the special needs children, and our team works hard to minister to the parents and caregivers who often are neglected. Shepherd’s Foundation also continues to support Foster Families, a program where orphaned children are integrated into supportive Christian families.
Combat war veterans
Ukraine was attacked by Russia in 2014. We support war veterans and their families providing rehabilitation, education and life transformation programs through outdoor adventure and family retreats. We partner with military service and chaplain organizations in Ukraine, US and internationally.
We develop educational partnerships from elementary school to university, connect professionals, support faculty exchanges and offer internship opportunities. Our commitment to education is an essential part of every Shepherd’s Foundation/ Camp Maximum outreach.
We engage Christian coaches and sport enthusiasts in multi-sport events in Ukraine. We operate infrastructure that is uniquely positioned to serve international organizations like FCA in reaching coaches and athletes for Christ in Ukraine.

What People Say
This was my first trip to Ukraine! Wonderful time traveling to Europe, learning new cultures, traditions, serving together with people from other parts of the world and being able to share faith with campers and staff at Camp Maximum. Time I will never forget! The mission ended up being better than I could have envisioned! A very memorable professional and spiritual journey for me!Elena EvansVolunteer
I traveled to Ukraine to help develop programing and processes for the new Christian Camp site the local team was just starting to build. I lived and served in Zolotonosha for six months! A rewarding experience I will cherish for the rest of my life. This was not easy, but I would definitely do it again. Love Ukraine and my dear friends in Zolo!Ashley "Ash" LapentaPrograms coordinator | volunteer
I literally could not be happier that I chose to travel on a mission with the Shepherd's Foundation! Through serving and sharing my faith in Ukraine I discovered deeper relationships and a sense of God's presence in my life. This is something you only come to understand when you serve abroad.Kyle FreedVolunteer
